AquaBliss Shower Filter Review

Our Review

Pros

Cons

Overall Rating – 4.5

As your search for a new shower filter continues, here is one from Aqua Bliss that’s worth considering.

I don’t believe there is such a thing as the perfect shower filter because they are limited in what they can do, but this one definitely has some nice features. It also has a few traits that I don’t like about it.

That’s why I am going to take some time here to thoroughly go over the pros and cons of this shower filter, what I feel are its very best features, and even tell you what those who have used it had to say about it.

I will also use my many years of working around water filtration equipment to try and explain in simple language how this filter works and what type of contaminants it removes or reduces.

You can then use the information I will give you in this AquaBliss Shower Filter review to determine if it’s one that will fit your shower filter needs.

Overview of AquaBliss Shower Filter

AquaBliss is a smaller and fairly new water filter manufacturer that has only been around since 2015. Their philosophy is to pair European styling with American ingenuity and this model shower filter from them certainly does that.

Usually, when you hear the word 12-stage water filter, you will immediately think of a whole-house water filtration system or sophisticated reverse osmosis system and not a shower filter, but that is exactly what this nice little shower filter has.

That’s a lot of filtering power in a small package.

This unit’s price point is also very good compared to some of the other top shower filter models that we have reviewed.

It does not come with an included showerhead such as many in its class but that’s not a big issue with its standardized shower arm thread size. This means that you will have no problem matching it up with a showerhead or shower wand of your choosing.

Here are the characteristics that I did and did not like about this particular shower filter:

What to Consider Before Buying Shower Filter

If you look at the picture above you may think to yourself there is not that much to this shower water filtering device but that would be wrong. Most manufacturers actually put a lot of thought into how they can get the best results out of such a small-sized product.

That’s why I would like to first go over these criteria of shower filters that you should base your purchasing decision on:

  1. Types of Filtration Used/Contaminants removed or reduced
  2. Construction/Durability
  3. Can it be self-installed?
  4. Price of the shower filter and replacement filters
  5. Filter life/Ease of filter replacement
  6. Water flow rate
  7. Options it comes with

If you concentrate on these shower filter characteristics when looking to buy a new one, you will give yourself the best chance of finding one that you will be very satisfied with.

Main Features and Benefits of the AquaBliss Shower Filter

Here is what I really like about this model shower filter:

12-Filtration Stages

As was already mentioned, this is a very high number of stages for a shower filter. These stages include everything from 3 different sediment removal filters that start the filtration process to post-sediment filters that end it.

In-between these are filter media that remove or reduce a wide variety of different contaminants. This includes more than one filtration stage that does a good job of reducing bothersome tap water chlorine levels.

Does Not Impact Water Flow

When you stuff different types of filter media into a small size water filtration product such as a shower filter, sometimes this can cause water flow problems through it. That is something that is very commonly mentioned with shower filters.

That was not the case with the AquaBliss Shower Filter because it still allows for a generous 2 GPM water flow on the supply side of the device.

Budget-Friendly Replacement Filters

You may be wondering why something like this would be considered a highlight of a shower filter? That’s because as I have been doing our shower filter reviews, I have often mentioned the high cost of replacement filters. Some absurdly almost cost as much as a whole shower filter.

That is not the case with the Aqua Bliss Shower Filter. At around $15 a piece, it has some of the least expensive replacement filter cartridges for shower filters that I have come across.

Performance

When it comes to the performance of this water filtration product it’s all about the number of ways that it can enhance water. I have already discussed that it has three pre-filter stages that catch progressively smaller sizes of sediment.

Calcium sulfite, redox, and carbon media specifically target chlorine removal and the removal of some other commonly found tap water impurities such as harmful trihalomethanes.

There are even 5 different water enhancement stages found inside of its filter cartridge. This includes oxygen-boosting mineral beads, zeolite mineralizing media, Vitamin C, hair health promoting tourmaline, and skin health-promoting magnetic energy stages.

Two protection stages before the filter exit point help keep all the contaminants it filters out from escaping into your shower water.

Installation & Maintenance

The manufacturer describes the installation process of this shower filter as being ‘kindergarten simple’. That means anyone should be able to do it.

Have a pair of channel lock pliers handy to loosen the old shower head so it can be removed and some leak preventing Teflon tape. That should be all that you need.

Changing the filter out is something that just about anyone should have no problems doing too.

Social Proof & Review Consensus

As I was reading through many different reviews on the AquaBliss Shower Filter, there was one type of comment that was mentioned very often. That’s the fact that many users said they immediately noticed their shower water felt softer and lighter once they installed this device.

Some also claimed it did help improve some of the dry skin and hair conditions they were experiencing before they installed this shower filter.

I also noticed that there were not a lot of middle-of-the-road product ratings on it. Users either tended to be extremely happy or extremely disappointed with this model shower filter.

The Last Word on the AquaBliss Shower Filter

There are some aspects of this water filter that I really like. It starts with its 12 water-enhancing stages that target many different impurities and attempt to produce softer and less harsh water.

I also like its looks and how easy it is to install and maintain. Its 30-day satisfaction guarantee and 1-year warranty also show that the manufacturer has a lot of confidence in what they say this shower filter can do.

With that being said, you can’t get too blown away by the fact it has 12-stage filtration. Yes, it does a nice job filtering out some contaminants in your tap water but keep in mind this is a device that measures 4.7” x 3.3” x 3.3”.

That simply does not allow for a lot of filter surface area. So, it’s not going to remove the number of impurities in your tap water that some larger water filters do. That small filter size and advanced filtration combination also shorten its filter’s useful life.

You will want to have your tap water tested for chloramines before purchasing this model shower filter too.
